Babson Park, MA - The post-season accolades continued to come in for Lyndon State College baseball player Andre Eason Jr. (Waterbury, CT) on Tuesday, as he was named a 2018 All-New England Region 2nd Team selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association in conjunction with the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association. This honor comes on the heels of Eason's All-Region 2nd Team selection by D3baseball.com on Monday.
Eason, a senior Applied Psychology and Criminal Justice major, was Lyndon's starting center fielder this season. He led the North Atlantic Conference with a .411 batting average. His .517 slugging percentage was good for 7th in the NAC. He also drove in 34 runs and collected 12 extra base hits, including nine doubles. Defensively, he recorded 84 putouts and 4 assists against only one error in center field.
Eason led the Hornets to a 20-20 overall record this season, including a 15-7 record in the NAC, the program's best conference mark ever. Lyndon finished in second place in the NAC and finished third in the NAC championship Tournament.
The ABCA/Rawlings teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America Committee.

The NEIBA serves to promote and improve college baseball throughout New England. In addition to naming the All-New England Team, the NEIBA also sponsors an annual All-Star Game. This year's game will be held on May 31st at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, RI. Eason will join many other top Division II & III seniors on the College Division team. They will face the University Division team consisting of many of New England's top Division I seniors.
