Patten propels Lyndon to wins over Colby-Sawyer, WPI

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. - Lyndon closed out the home portion of its 2012-13 season with wins over Colby-Sawyer College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. With the victories, the Hornets improve to 6-7-1 on the season overall.

Senior forward Tim Patten (Springfield, N.H.) led Lyndon to a 15-7 victory over the Chargers on Friday, Jan. 25 with six goals and four assists. Tyler Eckhardt (Lyndonville, Vt.) chipped in three goals and two assists while Chris Martin (Waterbury Center, Vt.) added two goals to the Hornet scoring barrage.

Jason Pelkey collected two goals and one assist in the win and Lyndon goaltender John Murphy was credited with the win.

The following day, Patten continued his stellar play by scoring two goals - including the game-winner - and earning an assist in a 3-2 win over the Engineers. Alex Flynn (Jericho, Vt.) accounted for the third Lyndon goal of the game and teammate Christian Henault (Barnet, Vt.) was credited with two assists.

Mario Viola (Nashua, N.H.) earned the victory in the Lyndon net.
