RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. - Vermont Tech remained undefeated with a hard-fought 91-84 victory over Lyndon. The Hornets, who trailed by double digits several times in the game, managed to battle back and tie the game at 69-69 with 8:18 left to play. But the Green Knights made several key baskets down the stretch to seal the win.
Kevin Carr poured in 31 points and three steals to lead Vermont Tech while Nick Simpson chipped in 27. Alex tyrrell had 15 points, seven assists and three steals for the winners and NiikAkwei General-Vanderpui grabbed a team-high five reboounds off the bench.
For the Hornets, Jose Fortunato (Boston, Mass.) had 18 points and seven assists while backcourt mate Ben Sackett (Lyndonville, Vt.) tallied 15 points on 4-for-8 shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Phil Warrick (Springfield, Mass.) continued his soild play with 12 points, two assists and three steals off the bench and O'Bee Byrd (Waterbury, Conn.) scored 10 points in the loss. Mike Norcross (North Haverhill, N.H.) had a game-high nine rebounds for Lyndon.
