PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown University men's basketball team built a 36-point halftime lead and cruised to a 88-55 victory over Lyndon at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Peter Sullivan scored a game-high 14 points to lead five Bears' players in double figures.
Brown led from start-to-finish and held a 57-21 at the half behind Garrett Leffelman's 11 points, shooting 5-of-6 from the field. Leffelman finished with 13 points.
The Bears dominated the backboards, out-rebounding the Hornets by a 58-38 margin. Dockery Walker registered his second consecutive double-double with a career-high 12 points and 10 rebounds. Walker connected on 5-of-6 field goals for the game. Andrew McCarthy and Tucker Halpern grabbed nine rebounds each for the Bears.
Matt Sullivan tossed in 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field while Sean McGonagill turned in a complete performance with 12 points, a career high eight assists and seven rebounds.
Lyndon had three double figure scorers, led by Jose Fortunato (Boston, Mass.) with 13 points and Jason Gray (East thetford, Vt.) with 11 points. Rob Alers (Central Falls, R.I.) chipped in 10 points for the Hornets who fell to 1-9 on the season.
