NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Fifteen players scored as Yale cruised to a 101-37 victory over Lyndon at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
Sam Martin led the Bulldogs with a career-high 17 points. He was 6-of-8 from the field, including 5-of-7 on three-pointers. Reggie Willhite added 13 points and four steals, while Austin Morgan was the only other player to reach double figures, scoring 10 in just 15 minutes.
Freshman Armani Cotton had nine points, Greg Mangano, and Michael Grace scored seven and Jesse Pritchard and Brandon Sherrod contributed six.
Two nights after being held to just 26.8 percent from the field in a loss to Quinnipiac, Yale was far more accurate against the Hornets. The Bulldogs shot 52.1 percent overall and 50 percent (16-of-32) from three-point range.
Yale also had a big edge on the boards, outrebounding Lyndon 50-31. Greg Kelley grabbed a team-high seven boards.
The Bulldogs also had assists on 24 of their 37 field goals. Grace matched his career-high with seven. Freshman Javier Duren also got in on the act with three assists in 10 minutes. Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) had 13 points for Lyndon while John Williams (Springfield, Mass.) chipped in nine points and eight rebounds.
