Hornets hold off Panthers

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Lyndon managed to hold off a late surge by Plymouth State to record a slim 69-68 victory in men's basketball action at Stannard Gymnasium. The Hornets held double-digit leads in both halves only to see the Panther make the game interesting in tis waning moments.

Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) had 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Lyndon (4-3) while Devyn Baranauskas (Waterbury, Conn.) chipped in 18 points and three rebounds. Daquan Vaughn (Farmville, Va.) had 12 points off the bench and Jose Fortunato (Boston, Mass.) turned in a solid all-around performance, scoring nine points to go with six rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Kevin Eisenberg had 18 points to lead Plymouth (2-7) while Alex Burt and Petey Skevas added 15 and 14 points, respectively. Mark MacGregor had 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
