LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The 10th-ranked Williams College men's basketball team paid a visit to Stannard Gymnasium and walked off with a 90-59 non-conference victory over Lyndon. The win ups the Ephs overall record to 15-1 while the Hornets drop to 6-7.
The Hornets jumped out to an early eight-point lead only to see Williams battle back to take a 43-30 advantage at halftime. Lyndon refused to die in the second half, cutting the lead to 54-46 with 7:40 remaining, but it could not maintain its momentum long enough to make up the deficit.
Taylor Eply led the Ephs with 24 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals and teammate Michael Mayer added 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. James Klemm had 14 pints for Williams while Nate Robertson dished out a game-high seven assists in the contest.
Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.) had 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots for the Hornets and the duo of Devyn Baranauskas (Waterbury, Conn.) and George Carle (Central Falls, R.I.) tallied 12 and 11 points in the game respectively. Jose Fortunato (Boston, Mass.) had six rebounds, three assists and two steals for Lyndon.
