LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Alex Petti netted four goals to lead Johnson State to an 11-4 North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse victory over Lyndon.
Nash Garceau opened the scoring at the 7:01 mark of the first quarter to give the Badgers a lead they would never relinquish. Petti upped the advantage to two goals just over two minutes later, but Lyndon's Max Ercole (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) cut the deficit back to one with a tally with 3:39 remaining.
In the second quarter, Johnson Tyler Ask and Lyndon's Teague Coyle (Tilton, N.H.) traded goals early in the period before the Badgers reeled off six unanswered goals to take control of the game. Petti had two goals in the spurt and Justin Connolly, Justin Nelson, Matt Dekens and Garceau had one.
Nelson collected four assists in the contest and Dekens and Randy Strand had one. Johnson goalkeeper Zach Jerome stopped eight shots to earn the victory.
