Lyndon laxmen turn back Thomas

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Max Ercole (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) scored five goals to lead Lyndon to a 12-10 upset of Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action.

The Terriers led 3-2 after one quarter of play, but the Hornets went on an eight-goal scoring binge in the second quarter to take the lead for good. Ercole had three goals in the uprising while teammate Ryan Brown (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) chipped in three as well.

Brown finished the contest with four goals and Robert Crupi (scituate, Mass.) added two. Anthony Amoroso (Jamestown, N.Y.) had one goal and two assists for Lyndon (3-5, 3-4).

Gunnar Shelton collected three goals for Thomas while Sean Machin, Derek Racine and Doug Tibbets had two each.

Matt Reynolds (New Fairfield, Conn.)  had 13 saves in the Hornets net and the duo of Racine and Jesse Morkeski combined to make 11 saves for Thomas (4-9, 3-4).
