LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Lyndon upped its record to 2-0 on the season with a 3-1 victory over SUNY Cobleskill at the LSC Athletic Field.
Noah Chapin gave the Fighting Tigers a 1-0 lead 20:11 into the contest when he took a through ball from Colin Nystrom and deposited a shot into the lower right corner of the net behind Hornets' goalie Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.). Lyndon knotted the score at 1-1 at 36:58 as Shane O'Donnell-Leach (Groton, Vt.) drilled home the rebound of a Patrice Lumumba (Burlington, Vt.) shot for his second goal in as many days.
Early in the second half, Lumumba took a pass from Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.), eluded a Cobleskill defender and buried a shot into the net to give Lyndon the lead for good. Dustin Ameden (Jamaica, Vt.) scored less than a minute later, off a long pass from Patrick Hilton (Lyndonville, Vt.), to close out the scoring in the game and seal Lyndon's second win of the season.
Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.), who relieved Marks at halftime, was credited with the victory while Fighting Tigers goalkeeper Brian Faulkner, who made four saves in the contest, took the loss.
