WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College men's soccer team defeated the Lyndon 6-1 in a North Atlantic Conference match-up on Alumni Field. Michael Hand recorded a hat trick to lead the Terriers.
Mattias Schyberg put the Terriers on the scoreboard first when he scored in the 15th minute. Six minutes later, Hand would score his first of three. Khamisi Lightbourne finished a corner taken by Matt Ford to add to the Terriers lead in the 35th minute. Less than two minutes later Dakota Duplisse sent a free kick past the Lyndon goalkeeper Jason Gray for the fourth Terrier goal of the half.
Thomas' Winston Trott relieved starting goalkeeper Mikkail Crockwell at the start of the second half. Crockwell put up his eighth clean sheet of the season with two saves before handing the reigns off to Trott. Five minutes into the second half, Hand tallied his second goal of the game when he finished a pass from Duplisse. Hand completed the hat trick when he scored off of a pass from Schyberg in the 62nd minute.
Tyler Powell put the Hornets on the scoreboard when he scored a goal in the 77th minute. Trott recorded three saves for the Terriers. Jason Marks recorded six saves for the Hornets in the a half of duty, as starting goalkeeper Gray shoulders the loss.
