LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Husson jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime and coasted to a 3-0 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lyndon at the Lyndon Athletic Field.
Philip Frost scored the first goal of the game at 24:32 off assist from Stephen Berenyi. Less than 13 minutes later, Frost struck again, this time off a pass from Taylor Wentworth, to up the Eagles' advantage to 2-0 heading into intermission.
Early in the second half, Patrick Van Dessel would pick up a rebound of a James Crawford shot from several meters out and deposit a shot into the back of the Hornet goal behind keeper Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.).
Husson goalie Brian Potter made five saves to earn the shutout while Gray and Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.) combined to make 11 saves for Lyndon (2-8, 1-3). The Eagles (6-3, 3-1) outshot the hosts 23-11 and had five corners kicks in the game to the Hornets' one.
