LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Norwich improved to 8-4-1 on the season with a 2-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over Lyndon Wednesday. With the loss, the Hornets fall to 3-10 overall.
Wesley Keslin gave the Cadets a lead they would never relinquish 11:26 into the contest by teeing up a shot from 30 meters out and lofting a shot over goalkeeper Jason Gray (East Thetford, Vt.). Norwich managed to maintain its slim lead deep into the second half despite several solid scoring opportunities by the Hornets.
In the waning minutes of the game, Norwich's Joe Young pushed the ball down the left side and scored an insurance goal into the far right corner of the net to seal the victory.
Christian Hallstrom made seven saves for the Cadets to earn the shutout while Gray turned aside six shots in the game. Norwich out shot Lyndon by a margin of 15-14 and the Hornets collected six corner kicks to the Cadets' two.
