Lyndon avenges early loss to Thomas

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon men's tennis team saw its winning streak reach two matches with an 8-1 North Atlantic Conference victory over Thomas at Norwich University's Shapiro Fieldhouse.

In singles action, Lyndon's Michael Howard (Rocky Hill, Conn.) picked up a forfeit victory over the Terrier's Jeremy Cliff in the No.1 matchup before Tyler Schofield (Middleboro, Mass.) defeated Mathew Bolstridge 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles. Jeremiah Powell (Concord, Vt.) earned a win for the Hornets in the No. 3 singles matches with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Michael Morris before Andrew Folan came through with the lone Thomas win of the day, a 6-1, 7-6 (9-7) victory over Paul Thibault (Westfield, Mass.). 

Jonathan Lehane (Killingworth, Conn.) and Daniel Weiner (Wells, Maine) rounded out Lyndon's singles win on the day by beating Thomas' Jesse Peasley (6-0, 6-2) and Keith Pike (6-0, 6-0), respectively.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Howard and Schofield beat Cliff and Folan 8-3, while Powell and Thibault took the No.2 doubles matchup by a score of 8-4 over Morris and Bolstridge. In No. 3 doubles, the tandem of Jenness and Weiner topped Peasley and Joshua Ross 8-5.
