NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Lyndon State College men's tennis team continued North Atlantic Conference play Friday afternoon with a loss at Colby-Sawyer College, 9-0.
Dean Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) and sophomore Alex Wright (St. Austell, Cornwall, England) earned an 8-2 victory over Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.) and Jake LaCerda (Gray, Maine) at the top doubles spot. The No. 2 duo of Cass McCann (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and Andrew Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.) and the No. 3 team of Cam Lynch (Haverhill, Mass.) and Will Triebel (Duxbury, Mass.) did not drop a game to win 8-0 over Dylan Cherko (Manchester, Conn.) and Ken Niemann (Au Sable Forks, N.Y.) and the pairing of Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, Vt.) and Bradley Shumway (Bloomingdale, N.Y.), respectively.
McCann and Hall battled for the closest singles match at the top flight. McCann prevailed 6-3, 6-2.
Boodakian dropped just two games en route to a 6-1, 6-1 win over LaCerda at the second flight.
Ryan Broderick (Londonderry, N.H.) and Alex Townsend (Bangor, Maine) won their No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches 6-0, 6-0 over Cherko and Shumway.
At No. 4, Mike White (Woburn, Mass.) came away with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Mulligan.
Lynch also won by a 6-0, 6-1 score at the fifth flight over Ken Niemann.
The Hornets (1-9, 0-4 NAC) travels to Johnson State on Tuesday to continue conference play.
The Chargers (8-9, 3-0 NAC) heads to Gordon for a non-conference match on Monday.
