Hornets finish 26th at NCAA Regional
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Hornet harriers closed the 2010 season with their first trip to the NCAA Regional Championship. While not its best performance of the year, Lyndon did defeat a few teams that it had not beaten throughout the year.
One of those teams was the University of New England who bested the Hornets in the first race of the season. In the NCAA Regional, the Hornets clearly out ran the Nor'Easters as they notched 26th place in front of UNE's 32nd-place finish.
Lyndon was paced by sophomore Josh Grant's (Nashua, N.H.) 83rd place overall result in a time of 27:33. In a field of more than 50 NCAA Division III teams, the Hornet team has their work cut out for them if they want to be a top-10 regional team in 2011.
Senior Michael Muccilli (Newton, N.J.) closed out his collegiate career with a solid and satisfying effort.
"It's been my good fortune to have Mike run for me the last four years," Said Lyndon head coach Chris Ummer. "He has epitomized teamwork, being a team player, sportsmanship, and hard work."
