LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The Lyndon Athletic Department has announced the promotion of Alex Evans to the position of Assistant Athletic Director/Strength and Conditioning Coach effective Monday, Aug. 15.
Evans, who also serves as Lyndon's Senior Women's Administrator and Fitness Facility Coordinator, is a 2001 graduate of Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine. She earned a Master of Education in Applied Exercise Science/Strength and Conditioning degree from Springfield College in 2005.
"We're extremely pleased and fortunate to have Alex's skill set, leadership, and work ethic full-time this year," said Lyndon Director of Athletic Chris Ummer. "Last year she had a tremendous impact on both Lyndon athletics as well as the exercise science program. I look forward to all the pieces she'll bring to our student-athletes, which I know will yield only positive results."
As part of her new responsibilities, Evans will become a member of the senior management team and a key decision-maker directly involved with the athletics department. She will also serve as co-advisor of the Lyndon Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) as well as the school's Academic-Athletic Coordinator.
"I am both excited and honored to be a part of the athletic administrative staff and have the ability to play a greater role in providing the student-athletes with a positive and memorable experience," said Evans.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Evans holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
