Grant tops field at Hornet Invitational

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Josh Grant (Nashua, N.H.) topped the field with a mark of 21:09 as Lyndon sprinted to a first-place finish at the Hornet Invitational Cross Country Meet held on the Lyndon State College campus.

The Hornets won the meet with a total of 17 points and were followed by the University of Maine at Farmington who amassed 46 points and Johnson State College, who collected 81 points at the event.

Hayden Bunnell of Colby-Sawyer College placed second in 21:14, Lyndon's Tyler Scheibenpflug (Wolcott, Conn.) came in third in 22:24 and teammate Jimmy Bielli (Gloversville, N.Y.) placed third in 22:34.

UMF's Colin Cundy placed fourth in 22:50 and was followed by the Lyndon trio of Wildens Fils (Stamford, Conn. -22:50.33), Joe Kill (Randolph, Vt. - 22:52) and Craig Johnson (North Kingstown, R.I. - 23:35), who placed sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.
