HENNIKER, N.H. – The Lyndon men's cross country team notched its fourth North Atlantic Conference title in the past five years as they dominated the field on their way to a team score of 23.
The Hornets were led by junior standout Kyle Powers (Waterford, Vt.) who covered the eight-kilometer course in 25:35 for a first-place finish overall. Powers was followed closely by senior Josh Grant (Nashua, N.H.) in second place with a time of 25:59 and sophomore Tyler Scheibenpflug (Wolcott, Conn.) took third place in 26:31.
Senior Jimmy Bielli (Gloversville, N.Y.) was eighth for Lyndon in 28:04 while junior Joe Kill (Bethel, Vt.) completed the Hornet scoring with a ninth place finish in 28:22. Lyndon placed six men in the top-13. Powers set a NAC Championship Meet record with his time of 25:35.
"Kyle, Josh and Tyler were brilliant today," siad Head Coach Chris Ummer. "They each put in an outstanding effort in preparation for the NCAA Regionals in two weeks. While it was a goal to take back the NAC title, this race is really a stepping stone for the NCAA Regional meet."
