NEC remains unbeaten in NAC play
HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College softball remained undefeated in North Atlantic Conference play as the Pilgrims swept visiting Lyndon.
In game one, the Pilgrims scored two runs in each inning and collected 14 hits on their way to the 10-2 five inning victory over the Hornets. Leading the way for NEC was Alyssa Hoot who pounded two homeruns collecting three runs batted in. NEC's Teraysa White finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored, while Gabrielle Timms finished with three hits and two runs batted in.
Picking up the win on the mound for NEC was Elizabeth Harrigan (Weston, Conn.) who allowed just one earned run on seven hits and struck out six. Leading the way for Lyndon was Ashley Barski (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) who was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Taylor Young (Lowell, Mass.) also picked up two hits for the Hornets.
In game two, the Pilgrims would jump out to the early lead and never look back holding on for the 5-2 victory. NEC's Timms and White stayed hot at the plate as they each finished with two hits. NEC's LiAnn Linck doubled and singled for the Pilgrims. Picking up the win on the mound was Gabrielle Timms who allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out four.
Leading the way for Lyndon State was Barski who single twice. On the mound in game two for Lyndon was Katie Davis (North Haverhill, N.H.) who allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out five.
