GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - In a rescheduled North Atlantic Conference softball match-up Johnson State swept Lyndon 7-1 and then 9-7. Johnson improves to 2-10 on the year and 2-0 in the NAC while Lyndon drops to 1-13 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
In the opener, the Badgers' Andrea Williams threw a three-hitter, allowing just one run while facing four batters over the minimum over the course of seven innings. Kelsey Taylor led the way for Johnson, going 3-for-4 in hitting while driving in a pair of runs.
Williams picked up the win for Johnson with 11 strike outs and only allowing three hits and one run while Katie Davis (North Haverhill, N.H.) suffered the loss despite striking out six.
In Game 2, the Badgers slipped past Lyndon 9-7. Offensively, Alex Macey led the Badgers, scoring twice in her three times at bat. The Badgers saw eight separate runners cross home plate over the course of seven innings.
Sheridan, Dakota Crane (Central, S.C.) and Finnegan each knocked two in for the Hornets. Finnegan had three hits in the game, including a grand slam, to lead Lyndon.
Williams picked up the win striking out nine and allowing no earned runs on six hits while not walking a batter. The Hornets' Meghan Gadapee was the losing pitcher giving up seven hits and five runs.
