LYNDON CENTER, Vt. - For a second consecutive week, Donna Lawson, a sophomore forward on the Lyndon women's basketball team, has been named Player of the Week in the North Atlantic Conference.
Lawson averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds with five assists, two blocked shots and three steals as Lyndon fell to Norwich and Middlebury.
The Irasburg, Vt. native collected 32 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and three steals in a 80-76 loss to the Cadets on Thursday, Jan. 6 before closing out the week with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in an 84-63 loss to the Panthers Sunday evening.
For the season, Lawson is averaging 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for the 4-5 Hornets. She is currently hitting 40.1 percent of her shots from the field while shooting at a .667 clip from the free throw line.
