LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Lyndon evened its record to 7-7 overall with an 82-68 triumph over rival Johnson State College.
Naomi White (Danville, Vt.) tossed in 20 first-half points to propel the Hornets to a 26-point halftime lead. The Badgers managed to whittle the deficit down to 15 with five minutes left to play, but Lyndon held them off long enough to secure their third North Atlantic Conference win of the season.
Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) led the Hornets with a 25-point, 10-rebound effort and also had a team-high five steals in the contest. Stephanie Barclay (Barre, Vt.) dished out five assists for the winners and Morgan Diltz (Moultonboro, N.H.) blocked two shots.
Andrea Deuell had 26 points and four assists to lead the Badgers while Jennifer Ferrari chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and one block. Lauren Lepage collected three steals in the loss.
