POULTNEY, Vt. – A second-half surge provided the difference as Lyndon earned an important road victory over Green Mountain by a score of 64-48.
The matchup between the Hornets and the Eagles was a tale of two halves. The Eagles used the energy of their home crowd to build a seven-point lead midway through the first half, but Lyndon fought back behind Dannika Dobrowski (Plainfield, Vt.), who finished the half with 10 points to help give the Hornets 21-20 half time advantage.
In the second half, Lyndon (5-9, 3-6) step-up its defensive intensity, causing Green Mountain to turn the ball over 13 times. Offensively, Chelsea Watson (Eliot, Maine) and Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) put in solid second-half performances to finish with 10 and 14 points, respectively. Lawson would also grab 11 rebounds to give her a double-double.
