Pilgrims earn NAC win over Lyndon

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — New England raised it overall record to 14-4, and 9-2 in the North Atlantic Conference, with a 69-52 win over Lyndon Saturday afternoon. The Pilgrims went on an 8-0 spurt late in the first half to take a 39-26 lead at intermission and slowly pulled away in the second half behind Kate Levy's 18 points and four steals.

Kayla Lawlor had 14 points in the victory while teammate Markey Flewelling chipped in 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Taylor Burgess had 11 points and seven rebounds for New England and Amber Jackson had a team-high three assists.

Chelsea Watson (Eliot, Maine) scored 16 points to lead the Hornets (5-12, 3-9) and Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) added 10 points, six rebounds and four steals. Freshman Aimee Thompson (Barnet, Vt.) continued her solid play with nine points and six rebounds.
