NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Lyndon State College women's soccer team upped its record to 2-0 on the season when it defeated Mitchell College by a score of 4-1.
For the Lady Hornets, Abby Fadden (North Haverhill, N.H.) was a force on offense, netting three goals on the day. Shauna Buck (Newport Center, N.H.) tallied the other goal for the Hornets, while Samantha Bergeron (Milton, Vt.) collected two assists in the contest.
Kathy Kline (Coventry, R.I.) and Buck had one assist each for Lyndon. Nikki Hoxie scored Mitchell's only goal of the day, off a pass Paige Ehnot.
Natalia Shams (Swampscott, Mass), who did not make a save in the contest for Lyndon, was credited with the win. The net-minding duties for Mitchell were split between Rachel Cunningham and Brittany O'Neil, who combined for 14 saves. The Hornets outshot the Mariners by a 26-6 margin.
