Cadets shut out Hornets

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Norwich remained undefeated in non-conference play and ran its overall record to 9-2-2 with a 3-0 road victory over Lyndon.

Brittany Casey gave the Cadets the lead for good when she lofted a kick out over the head of Hornets goalkeeper Tia Billado (Bellows Falls, Vt.) to open a 1-0 lead. Kacey Abbriano drew an assist on the play.

Less than eight minutes later, Baylie Lamarre upped the Norwich advantage to two goals by drilling a direct kick over Billado and into the back of the net. Courtney Parisot closed out the scoring in the contest at the 49:21 mark of the second half to send the Cadets on to victory.

Meghan Kennedy (one save) started in goal for Norwich but was injured early in the contest and could not continue. Allison Hull came on to make three saves for the Cadets and preserve the shutout. Billado finished the game with a total of five saves.

Norwich outshot Lyndon 26-10 in the contest.
