LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Dannika Dobrowski (Plainfield, Vt.), making the first start in goal of her college career, stopped four shots to lead Lyndon to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Regis.
Having lost three goalkeepers to injury, the Hornets press Dobrowski into action and she paid immediate dividends, leading Lyndon (2-2) to a second-straight home victory.
After a scoreless first half, which featured a 35-minute down pour, Sarah Cornell (Lyndonville, Vt.) scored the lone goal of the game off a cross from Emily Strese (Gilmanton, N.H.) at the 62:08 mark. From there, Dobrowski and the Hornet defensive corps took over and managed to keep the game scoreless the rest of the way.
Rachel Gagnon had five saves for the Pride (2-1), who outshot the hosts by a margin of 11-8.
