Lyndon women earn NSCAA honor

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — The Lyndon women's soccer team has been cited by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its ethical and sportsmanlike play throughout the 2012 season. The NSCAA awarded the Hornets its Gold Medal Award for Team Ethics after finishing the entire season without a single yellow or red card.

The Hornets were one of just eight teams across all three divisions of NCAA intercollegiate women's soccer to receive the honor. Lyndon finished its 2012 campaign with a 4-12-1 record and a North Atlantic Conference mark of 2-6-1.

The Hornets, under sixth-year head coach Wendy Elles, will return 13 of its 15 players from the 2012 season.
