Plymouth women down Lyndon

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season with a 7-2 victory over Lyndon in a non-conference match at the P. E. Center Courts. The Panthers took two of the three doubles and five of the six singles matches against the Hornets.

PSU took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches, winning in the second and third flights.Megan Cooper and Jane Duggan were winners at No. 2, and Ashley Hanlon and Rosalie DiRado teamed up to post an 8-0 victory at No. 3.
All five PSU singles wins came in straight sets – Sara Burke at No.1, Molly Heartfield at No. 3, Elizabeth Silsby at No. 4, Cheyenne Lessard at No 5, and Chelsea Thibeault at No. 6.
The Hornets got a strong performance from Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.), who posted a pair of victories. Flynn and teammate Kelsey Johnson (White River Junction, Vt.) earned an 8-5 decision at No. 1 doubles, and Flynn came from behind to win the No. 2 singles match in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 7-5.
