JOHNSON, Vt. - Lyndon improved to 3-4 on the season, and 2-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference's Eastern Division, with a 9-0 victory over Johnson State.
In doubles competition, the Hornet team of Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.) and Kelsey Johnson (White River Junction, Vt.) defeated Emily Miller and Maegean Ploof 8-0 in the first flight. Lyndon's Kaitlin Cunningham (Manteca, Calif.) and Olivia Bernard (Barton, Vt.) made it 2-0 by besting Catlyn Hughes and Kaye Murphy 8-4 in No. 2 doubles. Margaret George (Glover, Vt.) and Maggie Harrington (Pembroke, Mass.) closed out the doubles sweep for the Hornets by beating Alyssa Greene and Clarisse Talley 8-4.
In singles play, Flynn defeated Miller 6-0, 6-0 in the first flight and Johnson downed Ploof 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. In third singles, Cunningham earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Greene while Bernard topped Hughes 6-1, 6-2 in fourth singles. Harrington (6-2, 6-1) and George (6-0, 6-0) collected wins in fifth and sixth singles over Murphy and Talley.
