LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Lyndon ended its season with on overall record of 5-6, and a mark of 4-4 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference's Eastern Division, with an 8-1 victory over Johnson State.
In doubles competition, the Hornet team of Kayla Flynn (Johnston, R.I.) and Kelsey Johnson (White River Junction, Vt.) defeated Emily Miller and Maegean Ploof 8-1 in the first flight. Lyndon's Margaret George (Glover, Vt.) and Olivia Bernard (Barton, Vt.) made it 2-0 by besting Alyssa Greene and Kate Murphy 8-2 in No. 2 doubles. Kaitlin Cunningham (Manteca, Calif.) and Hannah Frigon (Cabot, Vt.) closed out the doubles sweep for the Hornets by beating Catlyn Hughes and Trista Roussin 8-1.
In singles play, Flynn defeated Miller 6-0, 6-1 in the first flight and Johnson downed Ploof 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. In third singles, Bernard earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Greene while George topped Murphy 6-1, 6-7 (7-4), 10-8 in a hard-fought fourth singles match. Hughes was awarded a win for the Badgers in fifth singles and Frigon topped Roussin 6-2, 6-0 in sixth singles to close out the match.
