Lyndon loses two of three at UMF Invitational
FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball team topped Lyndon State College 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-17) at the UMF Invitational at Dearborn Gymnasium. In other matches, Lyndon beat the University of Maine at Presque Isle 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 15-11), but fell to UMFK 3-0 (25-7, 25-19, 26-24).

The Hornets rallied from a 2-1 hole to upend the Owls. Kayla Cormier (Manchester, N.H.) led Lyndon with seven kills and seven digs, while Maegan Fried (Great Falls, Mont.) came through with six kills and six service aces and Joy Piper (Belmont, N.H.) also had seven digs. Karen Creighton posted a match-high eight kills for UMPI with Randi Kaplan collecting a match best with 12 digs.
UMaine-Fort Kent 3, Lyndon 0
Elsa Gelagay turned in nine kills as the Bengals breezed by Lyndon. Ash supplied eight service aces in the victory, while Gelagay also led the team with five digs.
Erica Ponte (Westport, Mass.) had three kills for Lyndon.
UMaine-Farmington 3, Lyndon 0
Shannon Mitchell and Amanda Mullane celebrated their final regular-season home match with a win over North Atlantic Conference foe Lyndon. Mitchell scored 10 kills with Mullane added eight kills in 11 error-free bids. Tello turned in a match-high with 11 digs. Ponte paced the Hornets with four kills.
