Lyndon falls at USM Tri-Match
GORHAM, Maine – The Lyndon women's volleyball team dropped two matches Saturday at the University of Southern Maine Tri-Match. The Hornets fell 3-0 (6-25, 9-25, 5-25) to Western Connecticut State University before falling 3-0 (21-25, 15-25, 9-25) to the host Huskies.
Demi Ruder turned in a career-high nine aces, and Madalyn Terry tallied eight aces of her own to pace the Huskies past Lyndon. Ruder and Terry also contributed three digs each, and Krista Keene and Kelsey Abramson each turned in six kills. Terry and Annie Mitchell had four kills apiece, and Bridget Burns finished with 19 assists.
Laura Drake (Hinsdale. Mass.) paced the Hornets with seven assists, two aces, four digs, and one block assist, Jessica Walsh (North Kingstown, R.I.) and Morgan Diltz (Moultonboro, N.H.) each turned in three kills.
In the opening match, Western's Paxton Thornton had eight kills and four digs in the win over Lyndon. Jennifer Hogan added 22 assists, and Rachel Volpe and Nina Wojtkiewicz finished with four aces each.
Drake and Sarah Adams (Alton, N.H.) paced Lyndon with three kills apiece.
