Lyndon edges NAC foe at NCAA Regionals
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Hornets ran to a 37th team place finish out of 51 teams, just 13 points behind conference rival UMine-Farmington, who finshed in 36th place. In head-to-head scoring though, Lyndon beat Farmington, a feat that hasn't been done in eight years.
The Hornets were paced by junior Allynne O'Hearn (Pelham, N.H.) who covered the six-kilometer course in 25:58. Seniors Nikki Brown (Franklin, Mass.) placed third and Sarah Leclerc (Berlin, N.H.) fifth for the Hornets on the day, both had excellent races as they closed out their collegiate careers.
"It's been such a pleasure to coach both Nikki and Sarah," said Lyndon head coach Chris Ummer. "Student-athletes like these two make coaching worthwhile and hugely rewarding. Their personalities, character, and work ethic will be sorely missed next year as will Sarah's team leadership."
