Castleton, VT - Lyndon State College baseball players Ryan Cordeiro (Rollinsford, NH) and Andre Eason Jr. (Waterbury, CT) were named to the 2018 North Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team for their play in this season's NAC Championship Tournament. The Hornets entered the double elimination tournament as the #2 seed. They defeated #3 New England College, 6-5, in their opening game on Saturday. On Sunday, Lyndon fell to top seeded Castleton University, 11-5. NEC then downed the Hornets, 11-2, in an elimination game. Castleton went on to win the NAC championship with a 22-5 victory over NEC today.
Cordeiro, a senior shortstop, had two hits and scored twice in the win over NEC. He was three for 13 for the tournament with a pair of walks and a stolen base. In the field he recorded four putouts and ten assists for the tournament, and turned a pair of double plays. Eason, a senior center fielder, was six for 13 for the tournament, including gong three for three in the elimination game. He drove in three runs in the win over NEC. In the field he recorded nine putouts and an assist without committing an error.
The Hornets closed the 2018 campaign with a 20-20 record and qualified for the NAC Tournament for the second consecutive season. Their 15-7 conference record and second place finish was the best in program history.
