Waterville, ME - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon baseball player Zak Johnson (East Hampton, CT) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 7th, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Johnson, a senior first baseman, was 6 for 15 (.400) with four doubles and six runs batted in as the Hornets split a four game series at Husson University over the weekend. He had a key two-run double, driving home the go ahead runs in Saturday's 6-1 win. In the field he had 35 putouts and three assists over the weekend without committing an error. On the season he currently ranks second in the NAC in slugging percentage (.449), third in batting average (.333), sixth in on base percentage (.398), third in doubles (7), fourth in hits (26), andninth in runs batted in (13).
