Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon right handed pitcher Jake Jourdain (Becket, MA) has been named to the 2019 D3baseball.com All-New England Region 2nd Team. Jourdain, a senior Accounting major, is only the second Lyndon baseball player, and the third Hornet athlete overall, to ever be recognized by any of the D3sports.com family of websites. In 2018, baseball player Andre Eason Jr. (Waterbury, CT) was named All-New England by D3baseball.com and and women's basketball player Mikayla Hodge (Newbury, VT) was named All-Northeast Region by D3hoops.com.
Jourdain made 12 appearances on the mound this season, 11 of them starts, and posted a 7-3 record. He led the North Atlantic Conference in innings pitched (70), earned run average (1.67), strikeouts (77), wins (7), complete games (3), and shutouts (2). Opposing hitters batted .179 against him, the third best mark in the NAC.
Jourdain led the Hornets to a 22-21 overall record this season, including a program best 11-5 record in NAC play. Lyndon finished in second place in the NAC and finished third in the NAC Championship Tournament.
