Hornet men unable to keep up with NAC-leading UMaine-Farmington

Farmington, ME - The University of Maine at Farmington sprinted to a 30-13 lead nine minutes into Saturday's North Atlantic Conference men' basketball game and rolled to a 95-67 win over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The Beavers improve to 6-2 overall and are alone atop the NAC standings with four wins in four conference starts.  The Hornets fall to 2-8 on the season and 0-4 in NAC play.

Amir Moss topped six double figure scorers for UMF, finishing with 20 points.  Isaac Witham chipped in 13 points and Milani Hicks posted a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Kevin Love (Bristol, CT) was Lyndon's only double figure scorer wtih 13 points.  Ricky Shuford (Prattville, AL) and Zach Falkenburg (Kirkville, NY) added nine and eight points respectively while Damon Denteh (Jamaica, NY) dished out six assists.

UMF dominated the glass owning a 50-35 rebounding advantage.  Lyndon also turned the ball over 25 times, compared to only 14 for UMF.

The Hornets close out the fall semester with a non-conference game at Colby-Sawyer College at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
