Hornet men's lacrosse drops back half of Georgia swing to Piedmont

Demorest, GA - The Lyndon State College men's lacrosse team dropped a 23-1 decision to Piedmont College on Tuesday evening.  The loss leaves the Hornets with a split of their season opening Georgia swing, while the host Lions even their record at 2-2 on the season.

Piedmont's Brady Jenks (Peachtree City, GA) got Piedmont on the board first, scoring a man up goal just 1:30 into the contest.  Chris Hadlow (Roswell, GA) and Jenks added unassisted goals before Conor Brennan (Southington, CT) got Lyndon on the board with 4:25 to go in the opening quarter.  Unfortunately for the Hornets, that would be their only tally of the game, as the Lions scored 18 unanswered goals over the remainder of the contest.

Jenks led the way for Piedmont, notching five goals and two assists.  Jeremy Kohn (Buford, GA) added four goals while Chase Goff (Acworth, GA) tallied three goals and three assists and Hadlow finished with three goals and two assists.  Hornet goalie Marcus Bessette (Pembroke, NH) faced 43 shots on goal and made 20 saves.

Piedmont outshot Lyndon 63-10 and held a 44-20 advantage in ground balls.

The Hornets return to action this Saturday when they travel to Emerson College for a 1:00 pm non-conference face off.  Piedmont hosts Hanover College on Thursday.
