Waterville, ME - Three Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's lacrosse players have earned North Atlantic Conference honors, as voted on by conference coaches and announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Defenseman Kiernan Brisson (Milton, VT) was named the Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year. Midfielder Shea Jones (Hull, MA) has been named to the 2019 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference 2nd Team and attackman Spencer Aubin (Sharon, MA) has been named to the Men's Lacrosse Sportsmanship Team.
Brisson, a senior electronic journalism arts major, played in 11 games, making ten starts. As a long stick, he was an anchor of the Hornet defense, and recorded 11 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers on the season. He has a 3.83 cumulative GPA and has achieved a 3.5 or higher GPA every semester at NVU-Lyndon. He has been on the Dean's List every semester, including one semester on the President's List. He is a recipient of the Lyndon State College Scholar Award and the Vermont Broadcasters scholarship. Kiernan also volunteers his time with the local youth, including assisting with a youth lacrosse clinic at the Fenton Chester Arena for the St. J Youth Lacrosse Club.
Jones, a senior criminal justice major, scored 32 goals and added 17 assists this season. He ranks second on the team and seventh in the NAC in both categories. This is his fourth consecutive All-Conference selection.
Aubin, a senior mountain recreation management major, led the Hornets with 34 goals and 18 assists this season. The NAC Men's Lacrosse Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the lacrosse culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
