North Adams, MA - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's soccer team again struggled to generate offense on Wednesday, dropping a 3-0 non-conference decision at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. The Trailblazers picked up their second win against eight losses this season while the Hornets fall to 0-11-1.
After a scoreless first half, MCLA's Rafael Castro notched the game's first goal of the game less than two minutes into the second half. The score stayed that way until the hosts tacked on goals from Kolby Clegg and Colin Rousseau in the final ten minutes of the game.
MCLA outshot Lyndon 35-1 on the night and earned 13 corner kicks to none for the Hornets. Hornet goalkeeper Caleb Derbyshire (Barton, VT) made 18 saves in goal while his Trailblazer counterpart Sam Edge wasn't called upon to make a save in recording the clean sheet.
The Hornets get back into North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Thomas College for a 1:00 pm start.
