WATERVILLE, Maine - The Lyndon men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Thomas College Wednesday in North Atlantic Conference men's tennis action.
With the win the Terriers improved to 7-4 overall, and 2-0 in NAC play while the Hornets dropped to 0-6 and 0-4, respectively.
The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Morin and Tyler Small defeated John Corey (Bennington, Vt.) and Trevor Updike (Newburyport, Mass.) 8-0. The No. 2 doubles team Zachary Disch and Federico Trujillo defeated Michael Sigsbury (Pownal, Vt.) and Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.) 8-2, while Jonte Roussel and Caleb Cough took down Kyle Berteau (Richmond, Vt.) and Dominik Agresta (Barnegat, N.J.) 8-2 in No. 3 doubles to complete the sweep.
The Terriers went into singles play with a 3-0 lead, and were able to secure wins in five of the six singles matches.
In No.1 singles, Morin defeated Corey 6-0, 2-1 by retirement, and Small took down Sigsbury 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles match was won by Disch 6-2, 6-2 over Updike.
Cough dropped his No. 4 singles match against Hall 6-2, 6-2. Caleb Mora took the No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-3 over Agresta and Joseph Greco won the No. 6 singles match, defeating Michael Desmond (Enfield, Conn.) 6-0, 6-1.
Lyndon will return to action today when they take on Norwich University. The match will be played at Norwich's Shapiro Fieldhouse and gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
