Robert Denton named to NAC Men's Track & Field Sportsmanship Team

Waterville, ME - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon thrower Robert Denton III (Providence, RI) has been named to the 2019 North Atlantic Conference Men's Track & Field Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced today.  This is the second consecutive season that Denton has been honored with selection to the Sportsmanship Team.

Denton, a senior atmospheric sciences and business administration double major, competed in javelin, shot put, and discus for the Hornets.  He established a new school record in discus with a mark of 29.58 meters at the Trinity College Invitational on April 20th.  He is also the school record holder in shot put.

The NAC Men's Track & Field Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the track & field culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
