Waterville, ME - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon cross country runners Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) and Anthony Pifari (Littleton, NH) have been named the North Atlantic Conference Rookies of the Week for the week ending September 30th. It is the second time that each runner has earned Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Both runners earned honors for their performances in the Vermont State Collegiate Championship meet, held on the NVU-Lyndon Cross Country Course on Saturday afternoon. The course is rated at 4.5/5, making it perhaps the most difficult course in New England.
Prince clocked 23:42 over the 3.16 mile course. She was the top runner for the Hornets and the top runner for all NAC competitors on the day. Prince finished eighth out of 52 Division II & Division III runners.
Pifari clocked 30:36 over the 5.01 mile course. He was the top runner for the Hornets and the eighth overall out of 62 runners, leading the Lyndon men to a foruth place overall finish. The race included the top 2 Division II & Division III runners from the state of Vermont.

Prince, Pifari, and the Hornets will compete next at the Western New England University Invitational on October 13th. The women's race will go off at 10:30 am, with the men to follow at 11:15 am.
