Terriers take two from Lyndon on Senior Day

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Thomas College picked up two wins on Sunday as they beat Lyndon 5-2 in game one and 6-3 in game two in North Atlantic Conference softball action.

The Thomas attack was led by Briana Warren, as she went 3-for-4, knocking in the games first run in the top of the third with an RBI triple. Sonja Morse, Alyssa Eugley, Korrie Laren, and Taylor M. Johnson all had one RBI in the victory.

Dakota Crane (Central, S.C.) led Lyndon's offense, as she had two hits in game one. She also had a walk and an RBI. Kiya Dewitt (Pittsburg, N.H.) came through for Lyndon with a walk and an RBI as well, providing the Hornets lone offense for game one.

Game two saw Lyndon jump out to a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Shelby Sheridan (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) knocked a ball up the middle, scoring Katie Davis (North Haverhill, Vt.) and Dewitt.

Thomas responded in the third, Eugley tripled to right center field scoring Morse. Laren singled after that, and the game would be tied at 2. Johnson came in and hit a two run double, giving Thomas everything they needed to pull out the victory.

Jordan Agger-Barnes, Emily McKenney, and Eugley all had two hits in game two, while Lyndon's hits came from Crane, Sheridan, Davis, Dewitt and Jillian Emery (Johnson, Vt.).

With the losses Lyndon moves to 6-16 overall, and 3-7 in NAC play. Thomas goes to 4-2 in NAC action, while moving to 6-17 overall.

Lyndon will get some much needed rest this week, with their next contest coming on Saturday April 25, when they travel to Bangor, Maine to take on Husson University in a NAC double-header. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
