Waterville, ME - Lyndon State College softball player Kiya DeWitt (Pittsburg, NH) has been named to the 2018 North Atlantic Conference Softball Sportsmanship Team, as voted on by conference coaches and announced today.
DeWitt, a senior Exercise Science major and four-year member of the softball team, pitched and played shortstop for the Hornets. She batted .293, second on the team, and led the team with 12 runs scored and six stolen bases. She also started 11 games in the circle, striking out a team best 21 batters. She played in 88 games over her career, posting a .280 batting average and striking out 53 opposing batters.
The NAC Softball Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the softball culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that go beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
