Hornet softball held to three hits in Senior Day losses to Thomas

Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon softball team couldn't get anything going against Thomas College pitching, falling 15-0 and 18-0 to the Terriers on Wednesday afternoon.  Thomas improves to 20-8 overall and leads the NAC wiht a 9-1 conference mark.  The Hornets fall to 4-18 on the season and remain winless in eight NAC starts.

Game 1 - Thomas 15, NVU-Lyndon 0

Cassandra Black's (Tolland, CT) foruth inning double was Lyndon's only hit off of Thomas pitcher Sydney LeBourveau.  The Terriers pounded out 14 hits, including four etra base hits.  Lauren Guppy was three for three at the plate and scored four runs to pace the Terrier attack. Lexi Colpack and Katie Taylor scored three times each.

Game 2 - Thomas 18, NVU-Lyndon 0

Lyndon didn't fair any better against the Terriers' game two starter, Katlyn Coulter,  Emma Moore (Hillsborough, NH) led off the bottom of the second inning with a base hit and Cecilia Chamul (Concord, VT) singled with two outs in the third, the only two hist off of Coulter.

Prior to the contest the Hornets honored their seniors, Alexis Britch (Essex Junction, VT), Melissa Calabro (New Canaan, CT), Meghan Campo (Essex Junction, VT), and Amber Roberts (Berlin, NH).

The Hornets travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for another North Atlantic Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
