Cold-shooting Lyndon falls to St. Joe’s

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Lyndon fell to 2-6 on the season with a 54-31 loss to St. Joseph's College at Stannard Gymnasium. The Hornets connected on only 24.5 percent of their shots in the contest and turned the ball over 27 times.

The Monks managed to build a 31-20 lead at halftime, but could not extend the lead early in the second half as both squads combined for four points in the first nine minutes of the period. St. Joseph's managed to right the ship in the final 10 minutes of the contest and walk off with its fifth win of the season.

Megan McDevitt led the Monks (5-5) with 11 points, six rebounds and four steals while teammate Ashley Geel chipped in eight points, 11 boards and four blocked shots. Allie Parent handed out a game-high eight assists for the Monks and Abby Young tossed in nine points off the bench.

Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) had a game-high 13 points, four blocks and hauled in a team-high eight rebounds for Lyndon (2-6). Chelsea Watson (Eliot, Maine) had three assists in the loss.
