LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Donna Lawson, a junior forward with the Lyndon women's basketball program, has been named to the All-North Atlantic Conference Second Team for her performance throughout the 2011-12 season.
Lawson, who resides in nearby Irasburg, Vt., started 24 of 26 games and led the Hornets in minutes played with 742 for a per-game average of 28.5. From the field, she connected on .375 (166-443) of her field goal attempts while knocking down two-of -six from beyond the three-point arc. From the free throw line, Lawson was 91-for 143 for a percentage of .636.
As Lyndon's main inside threat, she collected a total of 84 offensive and 174 defensive rebounds for a team-leading per-game average of 9.9. Lawson also collected 62 blocked shots, 49 steals and 33 assists in the 2011-12 campaign.
On Friday, Feb. 10, Lawson reached the 1,000 point plateau for her career in a 62-55 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington. For the season, she amassed 425 points for a team-leading points-per-game average of 16.3.
This marked the third time in as many years Lawson has received All-NAC honors. In the 2009-10 season she was named the league's Rookie of the year and followed that up with an All-NAC First Team selection in 2010-11.
